Subject: NRC Region I Inspection Report No. 50-289/82-10-Application for Withholding Certain Information from Public Disclosure per 10 CFR 9.5(a)(4). (Your letter to Mr. Richard W Starostecki, dated September 8, 1982)

We are in receipt of your application to withhold from public disclosure certain information contained in paragraph 3 of the subject inspection report.

The information sought to be withheld also is contained in the TMI-1 Once Through Steam Generator Repair Safety Analysis Report which was submitted to the NRC Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation on August 20, 1982 accompanied by an application to withhold from public disclosure certain information contained within that document.

Since the information sought to be withheld in both applications is the same or similar, the decision regarding your application has been deferred to the Of fice of Nuclear Reactor Regulations, the NRC office first receiving the application.

Pending that decision, we deleted the information sought to be withheld from the subject inspection report and are releasing the report to normal distribution which includes public dissemination.

Should the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation subsequently deny your application, we will reissue the affected page with the information intact.
