corpmitted to perform ventilation system des [gn reviews as one of the long-term corrective steps' to address a Notice of Violation (NOV) which discovered a single-failure vulnerability in the Loss of Normal Power Logic. NNECO scheduled, but did not complete, this self-assessment (B15485-2) by June 30, 1996.

By Licensee' Event Report (LER) 94420-01, NNECO commited (B16035-1)* to systematically review Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Systems which provide temperature controls for areas in which safety-related equipment are located at Millstone Unit 1 to ensure that operation of HVAC system / equipment will provide adequate temperature' control for the operation of safety-related equipment and/or structures in appropriate scenarios. This review shall include, but is not limited to, both normal operation and Loss of Norma: Power scenarios. Results of this review shall be incorporated into applicable engineering design documents and plant operations procedures. This review is scheduled for completion during Refueling Outage (RFO) 15 as part of the 10CFR50.54(f)

review.

A The ventilation reviews (B15485-2) planned in response to the NOV are similar in scope to the ventilation reviews (B16035-1) scheduled as part of the 50.54(f) efforts. In order to l eliminate the duplication of commitments, NNECO is canceling commitment B15485-2. The

completion of the ventilation system design reviews as part of commitment B16035-1 will preserve this long-term corredive step for the NOV.
