Description

On December 30, 2009, at 12:03 p.m., Palo Verde Nuclear Generation Station declared a Notice of Unusual Event for emergency action level HU1, Natural phenomena affecting the protected area. Following declaration of the Notice of Unusual Event, the licensee failed to make notifications to State and local governmental agencies within 15 minutes as required by 10 CFR 50.47(b)(5) and 10 CFR Part 50, Appendix E. This event has been documented in the licensees corrective action program as PVAR 3421043. The finding is of very low safety significance because the Emergency Action Level classification did not exceed a Notice of Unusual Event
