This action was needed to protect the personal health and safety of security force personnel. This action was associated with the event reported to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission on LER 2013-008-00 (ML13268All2).

On July26, 2013, Callaway Plant declared an Unusual Event associated with a fire in the turbine building.
(Refer to Event Number 49219 and LER 2013-008 for additional details of the event.)
Due to personnel safety concerns associated with the fire, Security suspended some measures for the site protective strategy. This suspension was allowed per Callaway Plant Security Plan section 24.2.
The measures were restored when conditions cleared.
