Abstract
On 04/27/02 at 2023 hours0.0234 days <br />0.562 hours <br />0.00334 weeks <br />7.697515e-4 months <br />, the Shift Security Supervisor with the approval of the Operations Shift Supervisor directed Security Force Members to seek cover due to a tornado sighting/warning in Callaway County. Outside patrols and Opreations Gate officers were directed to seek cover in alternate facilities. Security vehicles were arranged to prevent site access prior to leaving posts.
Protected Area posts and controls were moved into safe buildings with their contingency gear. The fall back defensive strategy was maintained. No required compensatory posts were closed as a result of this event. At 2037, the danger was no longer present and operations were returned to normal.
An Event Notification telephone call was made to the NRC Operations Center at 2105, 04/27/02 (EN 38882).
