Technical Specification 3 3 7 10 requires the Lake Blowdown Flow Instrumentation to be operable. On October 16, 1982 the Lake Blow-down Flow Recorder was giving incorrect readings.

V. PROBABLE CONSEQUENCES OF THE OCCURRENCE:

Flow estimates were taken every 4 hours4.62963e-5 days <br />0.00111 hours <br />6.613757e-6 weeks <br />1.522e-6 months <br /> while discharging per Techni-cal Specification 3 3 7 10. Safe operation of the Unit was maintained at all times.

VI. CAUSE:

The Lake Blowdown Flow Instrument probe was found to be plugged pre-venting the correct signal from being transmitted. The probe continues t o plug up within a day from the time it is cleared. The probe was manufactured by Diederich Standards in Boulder, Colorado.

Vll. CORRECTIVE ACTIONS: I Modification M-1-0-82-125 was written to modify the existing system.

Several alternatives to this problem have been proposed by Sargent &

Lundy. AIR l-82-58035 has been generated to track the completion of the modification. This problem has occurred previously as referenced in LER 82-122/03L-0.
