- l. The application lists Drawing No.129D4690 as being Revision 1 while the certificate of compliance lists the drawing as Revision 0.
Discuss Revision 1 changes and the effect the changes have on package performance.
- 2. The packaging drawings, with the exception of Drawing No. 12904690, are not acceptable. Provide a legible set of packaging drawings.
- 3. The present certificate of compliance and the referenced General Electric application list the packaging weight as 7,800 lbs.
Discuss the packaging changes which resulted in a 300 lb increase in packaging weight and the effect the changes have on package performance.
- 4. Operating Procedures i
o Operations requiring radiation surveys and checks for surface contamination of the packaging should require compliance with 10 CFR 5571.47 and 71.87.
o Operating procedures should specify torque requirements for all closure bolts.
o Procedures for unloading the package should include a statement regarding compliance with the requirenents of 10 CFR 520.205.
o In Step "aa," the empty packaging label should be in accordance with 49 CFR 5172.450.
o The procedures for preparation of an empty package for transport
- should refer to the requirements of 10 CFR 5173.427.
