This refers to the routine safeguards inspection conducted by . .
Messrs. W. K. Lancaster and D. F. Cameron of this office on May 1-5, 1989, at-
the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant, Units 1 and 2, Lusby, Maryland, of
activities authorized by NRC License Nos. DPR-53'and DPR-69 and to the-
discussions of. our findings held by Mr.- Lancaster and Mr. .R. -C. Dernoga and.'
other members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I
Inspection Report which is enclosed with~this letter. Within these areas, the -
inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures a~nd
representative records, interviews with personnel ard observations by the
inspectors.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were observe'd.
Portions of the enclosed inuection report contain~ details 'of.your security
program that have been determined to be exempt from public disclosure in
ar,curdance with 10 CFR 73.21 (Safeguards Information). Therefore, those-
portions will not be placed in the NRC Public Document Room (PDR) and will-
receive limited distribution. This letter and the remaining. portions of the-
inspection report will be'placed in the PDR in accordance with'10 CFR 2 790(a).
No reply to this letter is required. Your cooperation with us is' appreciated.
