Before me, the undersigned authority, personally appeared

Mr. J. E. McEwen, Jr., Assistant to the Manager of the Nuclear Safety Department in the Pressurized Water Reactor Systems Division, Westinghouse Electric Corporation, who being by me duly sworn according to law, deposes and says that he it avtborized to execute this Affidavit en behalf of Westinghouse Electric Corporation (" Westinghouse") and that the aver-ment's of fact set forth in this Affidavit are true and correct to the best of his. knowledge, information, and belief:

(1) Westinghouse is in the process of performing calculational analyses and preparing documentation required by Section 50,46(a)(1) and Appendix K to 10 CFR Part 50 of the United States Atomic Energy s i Commission's (" Commission") regulations.

(3) Because of the extremely large volume of work, the complexity of the analyses and documentation, and excessive requirements on c.omputer facilities, Westinghouse was unable to complete the individual. analyses and documentation for a'il of the nuclear power reactors identified below by the date originally anticipated. '

(4) Westinghouse expects that the analyses and documentation relating to those nuclear power reactors identified below which are -t covered by the provisions of Section 50.46(a)(2) and Appendix K to 10 Cir, Part 50 vi Uie Cunmi:,siun's regulot. ions wiii ce completea oy August 2,1974 (except for H. B. Robinson Unit No. 2). Westinghouse expects that the analyses and documentation related to H. B. Robinson Unit No. 2, for which certain input was just provided to Westinghouse, -

1 will be completed by August 30, 1974. Westinghouse has informed its customers of these new schedules. i i

(5) Upon completion, the enalyses and appropriate documentation {

being prepared for these nuclear power reactors will be made available to the utilities concerned.
