BOARD NOTIFICATION Pursuant to Duke Potver Co. (William B. McGuire Nuclear Station, Units 1 and 2),
ALAB-143,6 AEC 623,625-26 (1973)), Yankee Atomic Electric Company (" Yankee")
notifies this Board as follows:
- 1. On Tuesday of this week, Yankee determined that it is going to modify its plan for the final status survey of the YNPS site so as to employ a so-called "MARSSIM" survey methodology (" Multi-Agency Radiation Survey and Site Investigation Manual,"
NUREG-1575/ EPA 402-R-97-106 (December,1997)), in lieu of the "5849" survey methodology,' on which the Final Status Survey Plan is presently based.

- 2. At this point, Yankee has not determined the implications, if any, of this change for the proceeding presently before this Board. A further notification will follow when that determination has been made.
