Comments on "Collection, Reporting, or Posting of Information; Availability of Draft Rule Language" (69 FR 8350, dated February 24, 2004)
Ladies and Gentlemen:
Progress Energyparticipated in the industry review of the subject proposed rule amendment, and endorses the comments submitted by the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI), by letter dated April 8, 2004.
- The proposed change to 10 CFR 19.13 will reduce significantly the number of annual dose reports and achieve cost savings to licensees, while maintaining provisions for providing adequate information to the occupational workforce.
- The proposed change to 10 CFR 20.2104 will continue to provide protection to the radiation worker, while achieving some cost savings to licensees.
Progress Energy encourages the NRC to address the industry comments and proceed with the rulemaking.
Please contact me at (919) 546-4579 if you have any questions.
Sincerely, Tony Groblewski Supervisor - Corporate CMI Regulatory Affairs
