- a. Fission and activation gases (1). These gases, excluding tritium, are collected in a Marinelli type beaker, specially modified for gas sampling, . steel. bombs, of glass vials and counted on a Ge (Li) detector for principal gamma emitters.
(2) Tritium gas is collected using a bubble apparatus and counted by 11guld scintillation.
