The quadrant power tilt exceeded the steady state limit contrary to Technical Specification 3.2.4 Conditions Prior to Oce:.rrence:

Mode 1 power operation (30%)

Description of Occurrence:

At 1600 during power escallation, after Reactor startup, it was determined that the quadrant power tilt exceeded the steady state limit. The event was self correcting and the quadrant power tilt was within the steady state limit at 1616.

Designation of Apparent Cause:

The cause of this event is attri6uted te a Xenon transient following a Reactor trip earlier in the day,snd the transient caused by plant startup.

! Analysis of Occurrence:

There was no tifect upon the health or safety of the general public.

Corrective Action:

j No corrective action was required to restore the quadrant power tilt

to within the steadv state limit.

  • This was the fourth time the quadrant power tilt exceeded the steady l state limit and this is the fifth event reported under this Specifica-tien.
