1. On September 8, 1980 the New York State Siting Board issued a lengthy written Opinion and Order in its Jamesport proceeding. The Siting Board concluded:

Our consideration of the testimony, exhibits, arguments, recommendations, and other infor-

mation relevant to this case leads us to cor:lude that the needs of the people of this State for electric service at a reason-able cost, and from sources that are reli-l cble and compatible with both the public health and safety and the environment, will l best be served by authorizing Long Island Lighting Company and New York State Electric

& Gas Corporation to build one 800 megawatt j coal-fueled electric generating facility at

the Janesport site.

2. Neither the Applicants in Case 80003 nor other parties to the proceeding, to our knowledge, have decided as yet 4

whether to seek judicial review of the Siting- Board's decision.
