SUMMARY
OF THE MAY 17, 2005, MEETING, BETWEEN THE NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION STAFF AND SACRAMENTO MUNICIPAL UTILITY DISTRICT REGARDING THE RANCHO SECO NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION LICENSE TERMINATION PLAN On February 16, 2005, a public meeting was held at the Rancho Seco site between staff from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), and Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) to discuss the historical site assessment (HSA) and site characterization related to SMUDs License Termination Plan (LTP) for the Rancho Seco Nuclear Generating Station.
SMUD discussed their objectives and methodology for the HSA and their characterization plan and initial categories. The HSA and characterization plan are being developed in support of the LTP, currently scheduled to be submitted to the NRC in September 2005. The staff asked numerous clarifying questions and exchanged information.
The meeting attendance list and a copy of the slides used by the licensee for their presentation is attached. This meeting was noticed on April 28, 2005. No proprietary information was disseminated or presented at this meeting. No regulatory decisions were requested or made.
