Filters for NPPs To: Chairman and Commissioners United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, D. C. 20555 From: Marvin Lewis Pro se intervenor Three Mile Island #1 Restart Hearing Re: NRC Staff Recommendation for putting filters on NPPs.

Dear Chairman and Commissioners,

The Partial Initial Decision in the Matter of Metropolitan Edison Comany TMI#1, Docket #50-289-SP dated 12-14-1981 discusses the Lewis Contention on "Filters" and provides some relief to the issues therein.

The author of this letter is the Lewis in the Lewis Contention. The litigation had left Intervenor Lewis bereft of resources to continue on with his Contention. The lack of follow up on the Lewis Contention resulted in part of the releases at Fukushima.

I respectfully request that the Commissioners reopen the ASLB Hearings on the issue of the Lewis Contention and update the results to the present Lessons Learned from Fukushima and the staff recommendation for filters to prevent radioactive particles from escaping into the atmosphere after a core meltdown.

I am available to intervene in the reopened Lewis Contention ASLB hearings.

Respectfully submitted, Marvin I. Lewis, R. P. E. (Retired) 3133 Fairfield St.

Philadelphia, PA 1936 2/12/2013.
