Draft Safety Evaluation Report (DSER)
Meteorological and Effluents Treatment Branch 0 en Item 10 (DSER Section 2.3.3 a e 2-15)
The meteorological instrumentation and the uses thereof during potential emergencies have not been described by the applicant. The emergency preparedness meteorological program. will be reviewed in accordance with RG 1.101 during the emergency preparedness implementation appraisal and described in a supplement to the Safety Evaluation Report (SER).
~Res ense The meteorological instrumentation and the uses thereof during potential emergencies is described in the SHNPP Emergency Plan. The Emergency Plan was submitted to the Staff on March 29, 1983. In a May 24, 1983 telephone conversation, the Staff acknowledged that a preliminary assessment of the information included in the Emergency Plan deems the SHNPP's meteorological instrumentation and its uses as adequate. The Staff will complete its review during the emergency preparedhess implementation appraisal. Carolina Power 6 Light Company considers this to be a confirmatory item.
