MANDATORY HEARING TO CONSIDER THE APPLICATION OF TENNESSEE VALLEY AUTHORITY FOR AN EARLY SITE PERMIT FOR THE CLINCH RIVER NUCLEAR SITE, DOCKET NO.52-047 The Notice of Hearing in this matter published in the Federal Register at 82 Fed. Reg . 16436 (April 4, 2017) indicates that either the Commission or an Atomic Safety and Licensing Board will conduct a hearing to consider the application submitted by Tennessee Valley Authority for an early site permit for a site to be located in Oak Ridge , Tennessee. The Commission delegated the authority to conduct a mandatory hearing for the early site permit application for Docket 52-047 to the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board Panel last year (June 22, 2017; ML17173A261 ).

The Commission has now determined to conduct the mandatory hearing itself. Therefore, the authority previously delegated to the ASLBP in the June 22, 2017, memorandum is hereby rescinded.
