PUBLIC MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT Title: PUBLIC SCOPING MEETING FOR THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT FOR HOLTEC INTERNATIONAL'S HI-STORE CONSOLIDATED INTERIM STORAGE FACILITY FOR SPENT NUCLEAR FUEL LOCATED IN LEA COUNTY, NEW MEXICO May 03, 2018, 06:00 PM to 10:00 PM Date(s) and Time(s):

Location: Eddy County Fire Service 1400 Commerce Drive Carlsbad, NM Category: This is a Category 3 meeting. Public participation is actively sought for this meeting to fully engage the public in a discussion of regulatory issues.

Purpose: To conduct an open house and public scoping meeting for the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission's (NRC's) Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for Holtec International's license application to construct and operate a consolidated interim storage facility for spent nuclear fuel at a site in Lea County, New Mexico. At the meeting, the NRC will receive comments from the public on the appropriate scope of issues to be considered in, and the content of the EIS.
