The Cooper plant has one boiling water reactor and is located 23 miles south of Nebraska City, Neb.

The meeting, which will be open to public observation, will begin at 1 p.m. in the NRCs Region IV office, 612 East Lamar Blvd, Suite 400, Arlington, Texas. Nebraska Public Power officials will discuss the status of the spent fuel storage project currently underway at the plant.
 
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the licensees plan to safely move spent fuel from the spent fuel pools to the dry storage casks, said Elmo E. Collins, Regional Administrator for the NRCs Region IV office in Arlington, Texas.
