ROs must serve in both the " at-the-con t rols {A TC)" and "b alan ce-of-plant (BOP)" positions; Instant SROs must serve i n both the SRO and the ATC positions, including at least two instrument or compo nent (l/C) malfunctions a nd one major transient , in the ATC position. If an Instan t SRO addit i ona lly serves i n the BOP position , one l/C malfunction c an be cre dited toward th e two l/C malfunctions requi red for the ATC position. 2. Reactivity manipulatio ns may be cond u c ted under normal or controlle d abnormal conditions (ref e r to Section 0.5.d) but must be significant per Se ction C.2.a of Appendix D. (*) Reac tiv ity and normal evo lu tions may be replaced with additional instrument or co mponent malfunctions o n a 1-for-1 basis. 3. Whenever practical , both instrument and component malfunctions should be included; only those that require ve rifiable actions that provide insight to the app l icant's co mpetence count toward the minimum requirements specified for the applicant's license level in the right-hand columns.

1. Check the app lic ant leve l and enter the operat ing test number and Form ES-D-1 event numbers for each eve nt type; TS are not applicab l e for RO applicants. ROs must serve in both the " at-the-controls (ATC}" and " balance-of-plant (BOP)" positions; Inst ant SROs mus t serve in both t h e SRO and the ATC positions , inc luding at least two instrumen t or c omponent (l/C) malfunctions and o n e major transient , in t he ATC posi tion. If an Instan t SRO a dditi ona ll y serves in the BOP position , o n e l/C ma lfun ction ca n be credited towa r d the two l/C malfunctions required for t h e ATC posit i on. 2. Reactivity manipulations may be conducted under normal or controlled ab n ormal conditions (refer to Section 0.5.d} but must be significant pe r Section C.2.a of Appendi x D. (*) Reactivity and no rmal evo lu tions may be replaced w ith additiona l instrument or compone nt ma lfun ctions on a 1-for-1 basis. 3.
