: 1. Is the equipment necessary to ex ecute the mitigating strategies, as described in your submittals to the NRC, available and capable of performing its intended function?
: 2. Are the guidance and strategies im plemented capable of being executed considering the current configuration of your facility and current staffing and skill levels of the staff?

: 1. Yes, the required materials and equipment to execute the mitigating strategies, as described in NextEra' s NRC Safety Evaluation for Section B.5.b of Order EA 026, dated August 9, 2007, are available and capable of performing their intended function(s).
: 2. Yes, the guidance and implement ing procedures are in place to accomplish the objective of strategi es delineated for compliance with  10 CFR 50.54(hh)(2). Implem entation of the strategi es is supported by the current plant configuration, staffing levels and skill levels of the plant staff.}}

ENCLOSURE To NG-11-0191 NextEra Energy Duane Arnold 30-Day Response to NRC Bulletin 2011-01, Mitigating Strategies NRC Requested Action In order to confirm conti nued compliance with 10 CFR 50.54(hh)(2), within 30 days of the date of this bulletin, the NRC requests that licensees provide the following information on their mitigating strategies programs.

1. Is the equipment necessary to ex ecute the mitigating strategies, as described in your submittals to the NRC, available and capable of performing its intended function?
2. Are the guidance and strategies im plemented capable of being executed considering the current configuration of your facility and current staffing and skill levels of the staff?

NextEra Energy Duane Arnold (NextEra) Response

1. Yes, the required materials and equipment to execute the mitigating strategies, as described in NextEra' s NRC Safety Evaluation for Section B.5.b of Order EA 026, dated August 9, 2007, are available and capable of performing their intended function(s).
