We fonnally petition -on behalf of 120 million black, Latino and Asian-Americans and 6 million minority-owned businesses-to be heard during this call. Because this matter affects not just PG&E, but Southern California Edison and other utilities, we urge that all be pennitted to comment and be invited to participate in the pre-hearing call. We are concerned not only with regard to the Diablo Canyon facility, but with the San Onofre facility as well. Some of the same concerns may exist to both. We wish to infonn you, since these related issues that are not being covered in this conference call by the NRC, that we would like to raise separately and should be the subject of future calls. Finally, in light of the Obama administration's strong support for transparency regarding all regulatory matters, we would urge that a record of this pre-hearing conference call be made available publicly within a week. Please contact me and/or our senior attorney, Shalini Swaroop, or General Counsel, Robert Gnaizda, at 650-952-0522 for a discussion in advance of the pre-hearing conference call. Thank you for attention in this matter and we look forward to working with all parties for safer energy. On behalf of the National Asian American Coalition, the Black Economic Council, and the Latino Business Chamber of Greater Los Angeles, I am compelled to ask to fully participate in the pre-hearing conference call on September 9,2012.
We wish to protest the muting of public experts at this pre-hearing conference call; specifically that the meeting is "open to [the] public to listen only." We urge that those who apply in advance, and represent sizeable constituencies, be pennitted to participate as long as they avoid duplication. We fonnally petition -on behalf of 120 million black, Latino and Asian-Americans and 6 million minority-owned businesses- to be heard during this call.
