By letter dated February 18, 2014, the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) requested to withdraw their December 20, 2013, license amendment request to revise License Condition 2.F that documents the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's (NRC's) basis for approval of the Watts Bar Nuclear Plant (WBN) Unit 1 Fire Protection Program. The withdrawal request is available in the NRC's Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) at Accession No. ML14050A119. | |||
On January 28, 2014, the NRC staff held a Category 1 public meeting with TVA staff to discuss the proposed amendment that would revise the WBN Unit 1 License Condition to reflect a dual unit Fire Protection Plan pending issuance of an operating license for WBN Unit 2. The meeting notice and summary are available in ADAMS at Accession No. ML14066A142. During this meeting the staff discussed the timing of the proposed amendment and the current licensing schedule for WBN, Unit 2. The NRC staff questioned the need for the submittal to contain the matrix of applicable sections of the fire protection related Safety Evaluation Report Supplements. TVA agreed to reconsider the insights from the staff and identified two options: | |||

By letter dated February 18, 2014, the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) requested to withdraw their December 20, 2013, license amendment request to revise License Condition 2.F that documents the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's (NRC's) basis for approval of the Watts Bar Nuclear Plant (WBN) Unit 1 Fire Protection Program.
