Purpose of Examinations:

1) To determine the detectability of the underlying axial flaws (previously leaking through-wall flaws).
2) To detect potential conditions in the DM weld repair region which may have resulted from welding process or from the underlying crack being drawn toward the deposited repair weld material during welding. This examination region is outlined in with red dashed lines below right.
3) To interrogate a selected region of the weld overlay material where porosity was detected during in-process PT examinations. This examination region is outlined in with blue dashed lines below right.

==

Conclusions:==

1) The two underlying axial flaws (previously leaking through-wall flaws) are detectable.
2) The repair weld region (over the axial flaws) contains neither detectable welding flaws, nor evidence that the underlying crack had been drawn outward by the deposited during repair welding.
3) The selected region of the weld overlay contains a limited amount of indications of porosity, as described in this report.

During the examinations, three (3) flaw indications were detected; two (2) Weld Overlay (WOL) planar flaws, one (1) WOL laminar flaw. One (1) of the two (2) planar flaws is located outside the WOL examination volume. All three (3) flaws are acceptable in accordance with ASME Section Xl, IWB-3514 and the additional requirements of Relief Request NI-14-CMP-001. See the IWB-3514 flaw characterization and evaluation on the following pages.

Examination Coverage:

Examinations achieved 90.0% coverage of the required volume of the Weld Overlay material examination volume for Laminar Flaws.

Examinations achieved 96.3% coverage of the required volume of the Weld Overlay material examination volume for Planar Flaws.

Examinations achieved 99.8% coverage of the required volume of the PSI - ISI examination volume.
