Overview
* EPRI and the U.S. NRC have committed to maintaining and enhancing the xLPR probabilistic fracture mechanics code
* Through the development and release of the code, maintenance requests have been collected from users and developers
    - Users can report problems and request new features and enhancements by submitting them to both xlpr@nrc.gov and xlpr@epri.com
    - Process is detailed in Section 5.2 of the User Manual
* Maintenance activities are controlled by an xLPR-specific Software Maintenance Plan 2
 
Current Maintenance Activities
* A new xLPR maintenance cycle is in progress that will develop Version 2.2 of the code
* The current maintenance cycle will correct known issues identified through the leak-before-break application work and incorporate enhancements from early user feedback
    - Known  issues are detailed in the Release Information included with the User Manual
* Goal is not to make substantial changes as the maintenance team is aware that users are still learning the intricacies of the code 3
 
Code Enhancements
* Code enhancements are intended to improve the user experience and address obsolescence issues
* Intended upgrades include:
    - Framework upgrade
* Target upgrade to GoldSim 12.1
            - Current version of xLPR runs on GoldSim Version 11.1.7
    - Module updates
    - Preprocessor compatibility with 64-bit Excel
    - User Manual updates
    - Additional user options 4

xLPR Version 2.2 Maintenance xLPR User Group Meeting August 18, 2021 1

Overview

  • EPRI and the U.S. NRC have committed to maintaining and enhancing the xLPR probabilistic fracture mechanics code
  • Through the development and release of the code, maintenance requests have been collected from users and developers
