==Dear Mr. Dietrich:==
On March 27, 2012, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued Confirmatory Action Letter (CAL) 4-12-001 (ML12087A323) confirming actions that Southern California Edison (SCE) committed to accomplish (ML12086A182) prior to returning San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS), Units 2 and 3, to power operation. On October 3, 2012, you submitted a Return to Service Plan (ML12285A263) for Unit 2. On June 12, 2013, you submitted a Certification of Permanent Cessation of Power Operations to the NRC, certifying that Units 2 and 3 have permanently ceased power operations effective June 7, 2013 (ML131640201). On June 14, 2013, the NRC issued a letter to SCE stating that, given SCE's decision to permanently retire SONGS Units 2 and 3 and to withdraw License Amendment Request (LAR) 263 (ML13098A043), which related to maximum power, the NRC is ceasing its review of SCE's Unit 2 Return to Service Plan and LAR 263 (ML13164A143). On June 28 and July 22, 2013, SCE certified that all fuel had been permanently removed from the Units 3 and 2 reactors, respectively (ML13183A391 and ML13204A304). Therefore, the NRC has concluded that the actions listed in CAL 4-12-001 are no longer applicable and the CAL is closed for both Units 2 and 3. The results of the NRC CAL inspection will be issued in NRC Inspection Report 05000361
/2012009; 05000362/2012009. No further response from you is required to address CAL 4-12-001. In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRC's r egulations a copy of this letter will be made available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the ADAMS, accessible from the NRC Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/readingrm/adams.html. CLOSURE OF CONFIRMATORY ACTION LETTER - SAN ONOFRE NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION, UNITS 2 AND 3, COMMITMENTS TO ADDRESS STEAM GENERATOR TUBE DEGRADATION

Dear Mr. Dietrich:

On June 14, 2013, the NRC issued a letter to SCE stating that, given SCEs decision to permanently retire SONGS Units 2 and 3 and to withdraw License Amendment Request (LAR) 263 (ML13098A043), which related to maximum power, the NRC is ceasing its review of SCEs Unit 2 Return to Service Plan and LAR 263 (ML13164A143).

The results of the NRC CAL inspection will be issued in NRC Inspection Report 05000361/2012009; 05000362/2012009.

No further response from you is required to address CAL 4-12-001.

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRC's regulations a copy of this letter will be made available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the ADAMS, accessible from the NRC Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/readingrm/adams.html.
