The subject Generic Letter requested that licensees / applicants furnish one of the following statements.with regard to the implementation status of their SPDS:
1.
Certification that the SPDS fully meets the requirements of NUREG-0737, Supplement 1, taking inte account the information provided in NUREG-1342.
Licensees should maintain supporting documentation for three years, including the completed checklist and photographs used to establish SPDS implementation status; 2.
Certification that the SPDS will be modified to fully meet the requirements of NUREG-0737, Supplement 1, taking into account the information provided in NUREG-1342. The implementation schedule for the modifications shall be provided. If a certification cannot be provided, the licensee shall provide a discussion of the reasons for that finding and a discussion of the compen-satory action the licensee intends to take or has taken.
Accordingly, the purpose of this letter is to document that the Waterford 3 SPDS (as modified in accordance with the functional design specification submitted in the Reference 1 letter and reviewed in the safety evaluation report issued in the Reference 2 letter) fully meets the requirements of NUREG-0737, Supplement 1, taking into account the information provided in RUREG-1342. The modified Waterford 3 SPDS became fully tested, installed, accepte'd, and turned over to plant operations for use in February, 1989 in accordane.e with the schedules provided to you in the Reference 3 letter.
As requested, the supporting documentation, including the completed checklist and photographs used to establish SPDS implementation status will be maintained in the Waterford 3 Records Center for a minimum of three years.
(Note:
3" x 5" sized photographs are currently in the files. They will be replaced with the requested 8" x 10" sized photographs which are currently on order.)
