In accoAdance with Reference 1, Louisiana Power & Light hereby submits a revised schedule for the completion of the Waterford 3 SPDS Enhancement Program. The original schedule, which was provided in Reference 2, called for having the computcc program for the enhanced SPDS written and functionally tested by July 1, 1988 and having the system installed, functionally tested and operational with approved procedures by August 1, 1988.
SPDS validation testing utilizing the Waterford 3 Simulator was to be completed by December 31, 1988.
Unforeseen circumstances have occurred which have caused the schedule to be delayed by approximately two months.
Thrt weeks of computer time and manpower were lost as a result of watet damage (caused by heavy rains in April, 1988) to the development facility CPU that is being used to implement the S/DS enhancements.
(The development facility is separate from the plant computer complex.) An additional delay of six weeks was realized due to the unexpected manpower loss of experienced contract support.
In an attempt to reduce the schedule delays, computer engineers have been working 50 60 hours6.944444e-4 days
0.0167 hours
9.920635e-5 weeks
2.283e-5 months
per week.
Taking the above delays into consideration and reflecting the additional work effort, the current schedula for having the program written and functionally tested is September 16, 1988 and having the new SPDS installed, go 3 o
