Sheet 1 of 1 NRC MONTHLY OPERATING REPORT
SUMMARY
OF OPERATIONS WATERFORD 3 APRIL.1985 l
Power ascension testing continued during the month as the unit achieved 50%
power. The unit started the month in Mode 4, with a cleanup of secondary system water chemistry in progress. On April 3 at 0600, the generator was back on line. On April 4 at 1007, at 15% power, a reactor trip occurred on low steam generator watcr level due to a feedwater pump trip. At 1318, following the reactor trip, an Unusual Event was declared due to reactor coolant system leakage greater than one gallon per minute. The source of the leakage was identified as a letdown relief va,1ve. The unit was cooled down to Mode 5 i
to perform repairs. On April 115t 0839, the generator was back on line.
On April 15 at 1013, at 20% power, a reactor trip occurred on low steam generator l
water level due to a feedwater pump trip. On April 16 at 0550, the generator was back on line.
l 4
On April 18, testing at 20% power was completed and a power increase was started. On April 19 at 2337, the unit achieved 50% power. Testing at 50%
power continued through the end of the month.
