Dear Mr. Knighton:
Subject:
Waterford 3 SES Docket No. 50-382 PUMP AND VALVE INSERVICE TEST PLAN, REVISION 2
Reference:
Letter W3P84-2686 dated September 25, 1984 In accordance with 10CFR50.55a(g), " Inservice Inspection Requirements",
Louisiana Power & Light Company hereby submits seven (7) copies of the subject Test Plan which is prepared in accordance with the ASME Code Section XI, 1980 Edition with Addenda through Winter 1981. Relief from the testing requirements of Section XI is requested when full compliance with the requirements of the code is not practical.
In such cases, specific information is provided which identities the applicable code requirements, justification for the relief request, and the testing method to be used as an alternative. Revision I change 1 of the subject Test Plan was submitted via the referenced letter.
Revision 2 to the subject Test Plan is being submitted at this time as a result of an NRC review of our previous submittals. A meeting between LP&L and NRC was held in Bethesda, MD., en October 24-25, 1984, to discuss Pump and Valve Inservice Testing. A follow-up confcdence call was made on November 20, 1984, to resolve open items. At the conclusion of the conference call, LP&L and NRC were in agreement as to the changes to be made in the LP&L Pump and Valve Test Plan. Those changes have been incorporated and this revision is being submitted for your approval. The major changes to the document are summarized in the attachment to this letter.
