DOCKET NOS. 50-445 AND 50-446 COMPONENT COOLING WATER PUMP IMPELLER LINEAR INDICATIONS SDAR: CP-86-11 (INTERIM REPORT)
Dear Mr. Johnson:
On June 23, 1986, we notified you of a reportable item involving linear indication on impellers for the component cooling water (CCW) pumps (see TXX-4871). This is a follow-up interim report on a reportable item under the provisions of 10CFR50.55(e) and is provided to status the implementation of corrective action. Our last interim report was logged TXX-5036, dated October 1, 1986.
Inspections of the Unit 1, Train A, CCW pump impeller have revealed that rework is required and should be completed by December 1986.
The Train B impeller will be inspected following the availability of Train A service water (scheduled for December 1986). Upon completion of the inspection, the extent of the required rework will be determined and the repair will be scheduled as required.
The vendor should complete repair of the replacement " spare" impeller by January 1, 1987.
We anticipate submitting our next report by February 6, 1987.
