Dear Mr. Johnson:
On March 14, 1986, we verbally notified your Mr. T. F. Westerman of a deficiency involving the field flash and K1 relays which are required to operate during the starting process of the diesel generators. This is an interim report of a potentially reportable item under the provisions of 10CFR50.55(e). We have submitted interim reports logged TXX-4764, TXX-4809, and TXX-4862, dated April 14, 1986, May 16, 1986, and June 15, 1986, respectively.
We are continuing our evaluation and anticipate submitting our next report by September 5, 1986.
