The inspection team identified a finding o … The inspection team identified a finding of very low safety significance (Green) and associated non-cited violation of 10 CFR Part 50, Appendix B, Criterion III, Design Control, for the failure to ensure the adequacy of the design for Raw Water Pipe Support RWS-117. Specifically, the licensee failed to demonstrate compliance with vendor requirements for the U-bolt of pipe support RWS-117. This finding was entered into the licensees corrective action program. The performance deficiency was determined to be more than minor because it was associated with Mitigating System cornerstone attribute of design control and affected the cornerstone objective of ensuring the availability, reliability, and capability of systems that respond to initiating events to prevent undesirable consequences (i.e. core damage). Specifically, the applied stresses exceeded the allowable stress for the U-bolt of pipe support RWS-117.
