Report of Generally Authorized Activities In Accordance With 10 CFR 810.6(x)

In accordance with 10 CFR 810, "Assistance to Foreign Atomic Energy Activities," Exelon Generation Company, LLC (EGC) is providing a summary of activities generally authorized under 10 CFR 810.6(a). This report is due within 30 days of beginning the generally authorized activities, which began on August 14, 2017 and is expected to conclude on August 14, 2018.

This report is being submitted by EGC. EGC is incorporated and operates under the laws of the United States of America, with its principal place of business at 200 Exelon Way, Kennett Square, PA 19348.

This report describes the activities of Exelon in sharing certain information controlled for export by the Department of Energy (DOE) with the following individuals who are all employees of the Japan Nuclear Regulation Authority (JNRA):

  • Kenji Yonebayashi
  • Kentaro Ozaki
  • Masakazu Shima
  • Daisuke Fukahara
  • Nozomi Ishihara
  • Koji Takiyoshi The individuals named above are citizens of Japan. The individuals will be observing the activities of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Resident Inspectors at the EGC Midwest Nuclear sites for purposes of benchmarking. The EGC Midwest Nuclear Sites include Braidwood Station, Byron Station, Clinton Power Station, Dresden Station, LaSalle Station, Quad Cities Station and the Cantera corporate office. Specifically, the NRC visitors from Japan are interested in observing the NRC's Reactor Oversight Process (ROP) and the interaction between the NRC and EGC. August 17, 2017 U.S. Department of Energy Page 2 Among the various activities the individuals will observe over the course of their visit to the EGC Midwest Nuclear sites are the following programs and activities:

NRC Inspections Emergency preparedness training, drills and exercises EGC Midwest Nuclear Sites station outages An agreement has been formed between EGC and the above named individuals to ensure that any subsequent transfer of technology transferred under general authorization under circumstances in which the conditions in 10 CFR 810.6 would not be met shall only take place if the individual obtains prior written approval from EGC.
