Washington, DC 20555 Attention: Mr. Stephen Dembek Gentlemen:

Subject:

VIRGIL C. SUMMER NUCLEAR STATION (VCSNS)

DOCKET NO. 50/395 OPERATING LICENSE No.NPF-12 REVISION TO TECIINICAL SPECIFICATION CHANGE -TSP 950002 POWER OPERATED RELIEF VALVES (PORVs)andBLOCK VALVES Refer To: G. J. Taylor to S. Dembek letter dated June 30,1995, RC-95-0167 South Carolina Electric & Gas Company (SCE&G), acting for itself and as agent for South Carolina Public Service Authority, is submitting a revision of a page that was enclosed in the referenced letter. The revised page will supersede the greviousl submitted page and is necessary to clarify the intent of the original su)mittal. y Page 3/4.4;10a, section 3.4.4.d.1.a, provides action statement requirements if all three Power Operated Relief Velves (PORVs) are inoperable or unable to be i

manuall,y cycled at the same time. The intent of this specification is that the allowed i

outage time for three PORVs to be out of service is one hour. The statement currently reads that the allowed outage time for all three PORVs to be out of service can be up to 72 hours8.333333e-4 days
0.02 hours
1.190476e-4 weeks
2.7396e-5 months
. The substitution of the word "and" for the word "or" will correct this i

statement, This revision has no impact on the safety evaluation or the No Significant Hazard-Evaluation Determination previously performed for the Technical Specification change ret uest. This typographical error unknowingly changed the wording of the

- submittal')ut not its intent.

This revision has been reviewed and approved by the Plant Safety Review Committee.

I declare that the statements and matters set forth herein are true and correct to the best of my knowledge, information, and belief.
