Dear Sir or Madam:
This letter is provided to, (1) request withholding from publi,e disclosure Appendix E, Applicant's Environmental Report - Operating License Renewal Stage, of the referenced letter, and (2) submit for your review and approval a redacted Appendix E suitable for public disclosure.
Entergy has been informed that NRC determined during the initial acceptance review that two figures in the original Appendix E*contained information of an historic or culturally sensitive nature which renders those figures inappropriate for public disclosure.
Enclos*ure 1 to this letter provides an affidavit supporting the request for withholding from public disclosure of Appendix E as originally submitted. Enclosure 2 contains a redacted version *of Appendix E for which public disclosure is appropriate.

Affidavit of Steven P. Vercelli I, Steven P. Vercelli, hereby affirm and state as follows:
- 1. I am General Manager - Plant Operations of River Bend Station (RBS), and I have been authorized to execute this affidavit on behalf of Entergy Operations, Inc. (EOI).
- 2. The information contained in Appendix E of RBS letter no. 47735, dated May 25, 2017, License Renewal Application, contains information of an historic or culturally significant nature for which public disclosure is inappropriate. This determination has been confirmed and is supported by Mr. Chip McGimsey, Louisiana State Archaeologist.
- 3. In making this application for withholding of.sensitive information of which it is the owner, EOI believes the information qualifies for withholding under the exemption from disclosure set forth in NRC regulations 10 CFR 2.390(a)(3), because:
- a. This information.is not available in public sources and could not be gathered readily from other publically available information.
- b. Public disclosure of this information could lead to substantial harm of historic or culturally sensitive structures; accordingly, this information is protected from disclosure by Section 304 of the National Historic Preservation Act and the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation's implementing regulations at 36 CFR 800.11(c~'
