In accordance with 10 CFR 50.4{b)(4)(iii), 10 CFR 50.54(p)(2) and 10 CFR 72.44(e), Duke Energy provides notification that Brunswick Steam Electric Plant, Units 1 and 2, H. B. Robinson Steam Electric Plant Unit 2 and Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant, Unit 1, Physical Security Plans, Security Training and Qualification Plan, Safeguards Contingency Plan and Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation Security Programs have been revised. The effective date of implementation for Revision 12, was October 16, 2017.

• has determined that the changes incorporated do not decrease the overall level of physical protection programs and security organization performance objectives and requirements as described in paragraphs (b) through (k) and (m) through (q) of 10 CFR 73.55 and 10 CFR 72.212(b){9).

This letter includes three enclosures which contain Safeguards Information as defined in 10 CFR 73.2 and must be protected from unauthorized disclosure in accordance with 10 CFR 73.21. Enclosure 1 contains a summary description of the Physical Security Plan revision changes. Enclosure 2 contains a copy of the Duke Energy Progress - Brunswick, Harris and Robinson Nuclear Plants Physical Security Plan, Security Training and Qualification Plan, Safeguards Contingency.Plan and Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation Security Program. Enclosure 3 contains the 10 CFR 50.54(p) Evaluations.
