Carcass found on cooling intake at power plant. There was some bruising/hemorrhaging on the plastron and around the vent that would indicate that the animal' was alive when it was ifnpinged.

Necropsy revealed that the animal was not as fresh asinitially thought. There was no fluid or froth in the lungs or airways, nor did the lungs feel compressed to indicate that impingement was the cause of death. While the fat content was slightly below average the muscle condition was good.

The stomach and intestines contained a variety of digested materials including crab parts, mussel shell fragments and plant material. No definitive cause of death could be identified.
