The dual-unit plant is located in Braceville, Ill., approximately 20 miles southwest of Joliet and is operated by Exelon Generation Co.

Smagacz joined the NRC in 2008 as a reactor engineer in Region III.

They will serve as the agencys eyes and ears at the facility, conducting inspections and monitoring significant work projects.

The NRC resident inspectors can be reached at (630) 829-9506.
