Diane Screnci, 610-337-5330 Neil Sheehan, 610-337-5331 New NRC Resident Inspector Assigned To Pilgrim Nuclear Plant Nuclear Regulatory Commission officials in King of Prussia, Pa., have selected Brandon Pinson as the new Resident Inspector at the Pilgrim nuclear power plant in Plymouth, Mass. The plant is operated by Entergy Nuclear.

Brandon Pinsons training and technical expertise will assist the NRC in carrying out its mission to protect people and the environment by ensuring the safe operation of Pilgrim, said NRC Region I Administrator Dan Dorman.

Pinson joined the Region I office in July 2013. He graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering. He is a graduate of the NRCs Nuclear Safety Professional Development Program and has completed a rigorous inspector qualification program. Most recently, he was a reactor engineer in the Region I Division of Reactor Projects. Prior to joining the agency, he was a nuclear engineer at Newport News Shipbuilding in Virginia.

Pinson joins Senior Resident Inspector Erin Carfang at Pilgrim. Each U.S. commercial nuclear power plant site has at least two NRC Resident Inspectors. They serve as the agencys eyes and ears at the facility, conducting inspections, monitoring significant work projects, and interacting with plant workers and the public.
