NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION Office of Public Affairs Telephone 301/415-820 Washington, DC 20555-0001 E-mail: opa@nrc.gov Web Site: www.nrc.gov No.03-069 May 28, 2003 NRC TO HOLD PUBLIC MEETING JUNE 5 ON REACTOR VESSEL PENETRATION LEAKAGE AT SOUTH TEXAS PROJECT Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff will meet with the South Texas Project Nuclear Operating Company on June 5 in Rockville, Md., to discuss the results and analysis from non-destructive examination of leakage at the bottom of the reactor vessel in STP Unit 1.

The meeting will be held in Room T-2B3 at 11545 Rockville Pike, from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. Meeting topics will also include the situations current status, progress on determining the leakages root cause, and repair plans. Discussion of proprietary information may close portions of the meeting to the public, but NRC staff will be available for public comment or questions before the meeting adjourns.
