The NRC High Frequency (HF) Radio System, described in SECY-80-333, achieved ini-ticl operational status four days ahead of the scheduled September 1 target date, i

j Tha system consists of a one kilowatt base station located in the Region II Emer-gincy Center and a one hundred watt removable shockmounted mobile unit mounted in each of. the three Region II emergency vehicles (two mobile laboratories and one i

Th2 testing program has comenced. However, the system is available in case of custained comunication emergencies. Several short term problems have recently cccurred (
