CATAWBA NUCLEAR STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2 - INSULATION SURVEY BY TYPE AND LOCATION By letter dated June 19, 1986, you sunrnarized the results of a survey quantifying the insulation in the containment by type and location for Catawba Units 1 and 2. Your letter satisfies your conunitment, as stated in Section 6.3.4.1 of Supplement No. 2 to Catawba Safety Evaluation Report (NUREG-0954),

so that the staff can ascertain that such insulation will not block the containment sumps.

The staff has reviewed your submittal and finds that it complies with the guidance cutlined in Generic Letter 85-22 and, therefore, provides reasonable assurance that insulation in the containment will not block the sumps.
