Dear Mr. Berg:

Please excuse my delay in responding 'to your July 13, 1979 letter.

I have been attempting to gather the information you requested.

I have enclosed two flRC publications uhich I believe address the majority of the questions you posed. The first publication is identified '

as NUREG-0380 and is entitled " Program Sumary Report." I believe you would be particularly interested in Sections 1 - 3 of this report, as those sections detail the range of reactors currently operating, under construction, or planned.

The second publication I have enclosed is identified as fiUREG-0327, Revision 1.

This provides the listing of minor owners of nuclear units

~(through September 1978) which.you request'ed in your letter.

I 1

I am afraid that this is the extent of NRC information on the matters in which you are interested. Since this Comission has no direct jurisdiction

over non-nuclear sources of power generation, it does not, to the best of j

my knowledge, compile figures on generation mix. You are quite right in believing that this infomation would be more readily available from the Federal Power Commission, now the Federal Energy Regulatory Comission (FERC).

I would suggest that you contact FERC in an attempt to obtain the missing FPC reports. For the current information you are seeking, I would suggest contacting any of the following sources at the Department i

8 of Energy: FERC, the Economic Regulatory Administration (ERA) or the Energy Information Administration (EIA). The address for all of the b

I above would simply be Washington, D.C.

20426. The telephone number I i

have for the EIA is (202)-634-5694.

I hope this infomation I am providing herein will ' assist you in completing your study and that further contact with the Department of Energy will prove helpful.

Sincerely, m;JJ.Eam sures:
