In Reference 11 NextEra Energy Point Beach 1 LLC (NextEra) submitted an updated final response to NRC Generic Letter 2004-02 1 "Potential Impact of Debris Blockage on Emergency Recirculation During Design Basis Accidents at Pressurized-Water Reactors)). In Reference 2 1 NextEra requested a limited exemption from the single failure criterion in support of Reference 1. In Reference 3 1 the NRC provided that the exemption request would be placed on hold pending resolution of other matters related to the GL 2004-02 closeout.

Presently 1 NextEra is considering alternative approaches to GL 2004-02 closure and as such 1 NextEra hereby withdraws the exemption request of Reference 2.
