Dear Sir or Madam:

Entergy Nuclear Operations, Inc. (Entergy) committed to supplement the acoustic coverage of the primary siren alerting system by installing tone alert radios (TARs) as a system enhancement (Reference 1). These commitments became, in turn, the subject of an NRC Confirmatory Action Letter (CAL) (Reference 2). Entergy is submitting this letter in response to the CAL.

The subject commitments concerned; (1) the implementation of a TAR control program, prior to placing the new siren system in service, (2) the distribution of TARs to required locations in the 0-5 mile region in the Emergency Planning Zone (EPZ) prior to placing the new siren system in service, and (3) the distribution of TARs to required locations in the region of the EPZ beyond 5 miles on or before November 1, 2008.

Entergy implemented a TAR control program in accordance with the CAL provisions and distributed TARs to the required locations in the 0-5 mile region prior to placing the new siren system in service. Reference 3 provided notification to the NRC of the completion of these actions. Entergy completed the distribution of TARs to the required locations in the region of the EPZ beyond 5 miles prior to November 1, 2008 and has, therefore, now completed all actions required by the CAL.
