Report in Accordance with 10 CFR 71.95(a) for Failure to Comply with Certificate of Compliance No. 71-9321 Indian Point Nuclear Generating Unit Nos. 2 and 3 NRG Docket Nos. 50-247, 50-286, and 71-0240 Renewed Facility Operating License Nos. DPR-26 and DPR-64 In accordance with 10 CFR 71.95, "Reports," sub-paragraph (a)(3), Entergy Nuclear Operations, Inc. (Entergy) is submitting this report to communicate a potential instance in which the conditions of approval In Certificate of Compliance (CoC) No. 71-9321 for the EnergySo!utions 3-608 transport package may not have been followed for a shipment of radioactive material from lndlan Point Nuclear Generating Unit Nos. 2 and 3 (IPEC). This report is based on a 10 CFR 71.95 report dated October 20, 2020, transmitted by the certificate holder, EnergySo/utions, to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRG), Reference 1.
The EnergySo!utions report Is applicable to use of the 3-608-1 cask by IPEC. Entergy records Indicate that Entergy made a total of one Class B shipment using the 3-608-1 cask at IPEC on June 28, 2016. The shipment is listed in Enclosure 1.
Energy Solutions failure to perform periodic maintenance inspections has no safety consequence because such inspections were performed prior to each use of 3-608-1 cask.
