Southern Company has announced the following organizational changes effective today:

Mr. J. B. Beasley, Jr. has been named President and Chief Executive Officer of Southern Nuclear Operating Company (SNC). Mr. Beasley will assume day-to-day responsibility for operations at SNC. He previously served as Executive Vice President and Chief Nuclear Officer of SNC.

Also, Mr. Jeffrey T. Gasser has been named Executive Vice President and Chief Nuclear Officer of SNC. Until a replacement is named for his current position, Mr. Gasser will also remain directly responsible for the Vogtle Electric Generating Plant of which he currently serves as Vice President.
