OFFICIAL USE ONLYPROPRIETARY INFORMATION Mr. Timothy Knowles, Manager Licensing and Regulatory Affairs Global Laser Enrichment, LLC 4110 US Hwy 421, Suite 100 Wilmington, NC 28401
SUBJECT:
REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION AS SET 5 FOR HUMAN FACTORS REVIEW REGARDING THE GLOBAL LASER ENRICHMENT, LLC, LICENSE APPLICATION FOR A FUEL ENRICHMENT FACILITY (ENTERPRISE PROJECT IDENTIFICATION NUMBER L-2024-NEW-0004)
Dear Mr. Knowles:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff has developed initial requests for information (RAIs) as set 5 to support the review of the Global Laser Enrichment, LLC (GLE),
safety and safeguards license application. Your application for a new Uranium enrichment facility located near Paducah, Kentucky, was submitted via letter dated June 27, 2025 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System [ADAMS] Accession No. ML25179A000).
Our review of your license application identified the need for Part 1 of RAIs on the human factors portion of the review. The additional information requested in the enclosure to this letter should be provided within 30 days of the date of this letter.
Please plan to hold a call with the NRC staff to discuss the draft responses prior to formal submittal, consistent with the NRC staff RAI process described in LIC-FM-3, Requests for Additional Information Rev 0, Section 2.10.1(b) (ML22208A272). Extending the formal responses beyond the 30 days, the need for supplements, or a second round of RAIs may result in an extension of the proposed review schedule (ML25202A201).
In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations Section 2.390, Public inspections, exemptions, requests for withholding, a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room (PDR) or from the Publicly Available Records component of the NRCs ADAMS. ADAMS is accessible from the NRC website at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html. The PDR is open by appointment.
To make an appointment to visit the PDR, please send an email to PDR.Resource@nrc.gov or call 1-800-397-4209 or 301-415-4737, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. eastern time (ET), Monday through Friday, except Federal holidays.
OFFICIAL USE ONLYPROPRIETARY INFORMATION The enclosure transmitted herewith contains proprietary information. When separated from the sensitive conditions in the enclosure, this letter is decontrolled.
